1987 BASEBALL REGIONAL- CARDIAC KIDS

The 1987 Baseball team was one of the legendary teams in the rich hardball tradition of RHHS.  Coach Evans’ squad was lead by a strong group of seniors and joined by a group of underclassmen to make up a solid rotation as well as a potent lineup.  Nicknamed the Cardiac Kids for their penchant for come from behind, late inning victories they tasted the high of a thrilling semi-final win over Lawrenceville with back to back home runs and the utter heartbreak in the finale vs Mt. Carmel.

SUMMER OF 1977

It’s the Summer of 77.  Star Wars dominates the movies and nuclear tests are happening all over the world.  KC and the Sunshine Band, tube tops and LOTS of softball.  

Little League baseball rosters raise some questions and surprises while Tony Gaither hits like a young Tony Gwynn. We lose the King of Rock n Roll but gain a new Jamerson. We discuss some of the best wrestlers of the year and talk about what was a good but nearly great baseball season. POST THANKSGIVING TOURNEYS 78-83

It doesn’t get more old school than the Red Hill Post Thanksgiving Tournament. The boys discuss the turkey tourney 1978-1983 editions.  Mike Ray and John Brooks were the coaches.  Chuck Rousey’s free throw records, Johnny Perrott lighting it up, top songs for each holiday weekend, the return of Terry McAdow, various assistant coaches and a whole bunch of Oblong, Palestine and Edwards County.  Bonus coverage as David King gives a harvest report can’t be missed.
